Planning for the future Do you have a Power of Attorney? Pick someone who has the ability to make financial decisions on your behalf if you are unable to do so. You may want this to be your partner, but it doesn’t have to be. Make sure it is someone you trust! This person can also advocate on your behalf to insurance companies & medical care providers. Do you have a will: The goal of your will is to distribute your property to whom you wish. A will also provides for your assets to be managed as you would wish. Do you have life insurance: An overwhelming number of fires occur in the home. There are time-tested ways to prevent and survive a fire. It’s not a question of luck.
